Moodbidri: In a bizarre incident, a man from Bengaluru reportedly married for the third time and duped the ladies.
The accused Raghavendra Kulkarni from Andralli in Basaveshwara Extension, Bengaluru had married a woman from Beluvai Village here on June 18, 2017. The wedding as per Hindu customs was held at the Raghavendra Math at Laggere Bengaluru. At the time, Kulkarni had divorced his first wife but kept it a secret from the second.
The woman came to know that Kulkarni had tied the knot to another lady named Gowri at Honnavva Mantralaya Math near Taverekere last month. She has now filed a complaint with the Pandeshwar women’s police station about the alleged bigamy by Kulkarni for marrying a third-time married without having been divorced.
The complaint alleges that Kulkarni started abusing the woman after her marriage. He abandoned his wife after their first child was born. When the wife returned to Bengaluru on her own with the child, Kulkarni allegedly drove them out of his house. It also mentions that the accused had also collected one lakh rupees as dowry from the second wife.
The complaint also named Kulkarni’s family members as the co-accused including brother Narahari, uncle Narasimha, aunt Geetha, sisters Premala, Savita, brother-in-law Naganath.
A team led by Pandeshwar women’s station inspector Revathi conducted the investigations and searches in Bengaluru and reportedly apprehended Narahari. But, the other accused in the case are still absconding at the publication of this news.
