Man booked for raping minor girl

Muzaffarnagar (UP): A 40-year-old man has been booked for allegedly raping a minor girl at Malira village here, the police said today.

According to a complaint filed by the victim’s father, the accused piked up the 16-year-old-girl when she had gone to a nearby shop yesterday.

The girl was taken to the accused’s house and raped by him, SHO Anil Kaperval said. An FIR under POCSO Act and section 376 (rape) of IPC has been registered against the accused, he said.

Efforts are on to trace him, the officer added.
