Man dies; family forced to keep body outside rented accommodation

Mysuru: In an unfortunate incident, a family residing in a rented house was forced to keep one of its member’s body in public and spent a whole night with it in Mysuru on Saturday.

The incident was reported in Kanakagiri. Mahesh (40), son of Veerabhadrappa succumbed due to ill health on Saturday evening and the family decided to perform the final rites the following day. However, owner of the rented house, Dakshayini demanded that the family kept the body out of the house.

The owner reportedly told the family that the house was handed over to them to stay and not to keep the body. It is said that relatives and rest of the family spent the rainy night with the body out of the house.

Vidyaranyapuram police have registered a case.
