Man drowns at Kaje waterfall

Karkala: A person who had visited Kaje waterfalls at Mala village along with his friends on a picnic lost his life after he accidentally drowned in the waters on Saturday afternoon. The deceased is identified as Rajesh (40) from near Mangaluru.

The 11 member friends group had come to the waterfalls in a car from Mangaluru. It is being said that Rajesh drowned while they had ventured out into the waters. On hearing his screams, his friends rushed to rescue him, but in vain.

Later, Karkala rural police visited the location and were able to fish out the mortal remains of Rajesh with assistance from the fire personnel and the locals. A case in this connection has been registered at Karkala rural police station.
