After posing as a young guy with special needs and hiring babysitters to change his diapers and treat him like a child, a 31-year-old man was arrested and charged with human trafficking.

Rutledge Deas IV, a Louisiana resident, was arrested last week following an inquiry into text messages he sent to alleged victims. Deas mentioned that he was undergoing “alternative therapy” in the message and offered to pay the babysitter to change his diapers.

In a statement, State Police claimed he pretended to be a younger man with special requirements and “tried to persuade the victim to seek other baby sitters to care for him.”

On one allegation of human trafficking and attempted human trafficking, he was placed into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center. He was also accused with violating his probation on four charges.

Deas had already been convicted on identical charges of human trafficking. He falsely claimed in 2019 that he was looking for home health care for his 18-year-old brother “Cory,” whom he characterised as “mentally and physically challenged.”

He then posed as “Cory” while “allowing the care provider to change his adult diaper and obtain sexual arousal under the false pretenses of being handicapped,” police said at the time.

After becoming suspicious, the victim realised that Deas was Cory. Deas pled guilty and was sentenced to probation in December 2020.

The police said that there is a possibility of more victims. “Anyone suspected of being a victim of Deas is urged to contact detectives,” the cops added.
