North Carolina: A man found an old plane ticket under his bed which was worth $400, 19 years after.
John Walker from Greensboro, North Carolina had bought a plane ticket to fly to his brother’s wedding in January 1999. Due to some reasons, he couldn’t attend the wedding and the ticket was left unused. He returned the ticket to the company for a refund but they sent him letter saying that the ticket was non-refundable but the same can be used in a future flight.
John did not travel at that time so the letter along with the ticket was put somewhere safe and was soon forgotten.
Recently, when john was clearing out under his bed he found an old box containing old documents and discovered the ticket along with the letter. John wanted to try his luck and decided to contact the company. He later found out that the company was shut down in the year 2002 and that the letter was no longer valid. But the company personnel found this case so bizarre that they honoured it anyway and decided to let John fly with the ticket which was now worth about $570.
John is still trying to decide where to travel with his lucky charm ticket.
