Man from Ghaziabad nabbed in Udupi for murdering wife and three children

Udupi: A man who escaped from Ghaziabad to Karnataka after murdering his wife and three children has been arrested in Udupi.
The accused identified as Sunil Kumar had allegedly sedated his wife and children before stabbing them to death in Ghaziabad and he apparently, remaining jobless for three months forced him to take the action, he claims.
Once taken into custody, the accused confessed of his crime and said that “great financial stress” compelled him to commit the crime, inform the police.
The murders
The murder took place on April 21st at Gyan Khand locality of Indirapuram in Ghaziabad. The accused gave a sleeping pills laced drink to his wife Anshu Bala (32), son Permesh (5) and twin children Akriti (4) and Aru (4) and murdered them when they went unconscious.
According to police sources, the accused took a train from Delhi to Kerala after committing the murders but alighted at Manipal. He then attempted suicide, but the locals rescued him and handed him over to Manipal police. He soon confessed of his crime and Ghaziabad police were informed of the find.
As per Ghaziabad police, the accused revealed to them that he was in a financial crisis and therefore started consuming drugs. Since his wife also could not secure a good job, he could not get his twin children admitted into a play school. He just managed to admit his elder son in a school by borrowing Rs 29,000 from a friend. Kumar also revealed that he got his drugs from the owner of a medical store.
The cops recovered a mobile phone, a bag, a purse, Rs 5,300 in cash, a passport and a knife used in the crime which the accused had disposed in a bush in Ghaziabad locality.
