Bengaluru: A 40-year-old man, a JP Nagar resident gouged out the right eye of his father using his car keys, on Tuesday, allegedly over a property dispute between the two.
The accused, Abhishek Chetan has been arrested by the police on the basis of a complaint filed by his siblings.
Reportedly Abhishek had been at loggerheads with his father, Parameshwar (65) over property issue since the demise of his mother recently. On Tuesday, he again got into an argument with Parameshwar for transferring the rights of JP Nagar house in his name. Parameshwar, however, refused to oblige to his demand since he wanted to share the property among his three children.
This seemed to have infuriated Abhishek who punched his father’s face and gouged out his right eye with a car key. On hearing Parameshwar cry out in pain, his daughter and other son rushed to his room and found him bleeding profusely. Parameshwar was rushed to a hospital and is said to in stable condition now. He has however lost his right eye.
Abhishek was held by the public when he tried to escape from the scene and was handed to the cops later.
According to police, Abhishek is a drug addict and he did not have a sound source of income.
