Bengaluru: A 40 year old man was held for spying on his neighbour’s bathroom by fixing a camera to the window and recording the bathing of a woman.

The accused has been identified as Jeevan Sait a resident of Sarvabhoma Nagar, Vijaya Bank Layout in Bilekahalli. Jeevan is a married man and has a child.

Jeevan sells car accessories for living, including reverse and mounted cameras installed in a car’s rear and interiors to watch occupants or to record a trip. He placed one such camera on his neighbour’s bathroom window to watch the woman of the house bathe.

Since the camera does not accompany a recorder, Sait stopped it to the cell phone with a link and recorded the demonstration. He later exchanged the footage to his PC, the police said.

Seeing the camera around 11 am on February 22, the 35-year-old lady alarmed her husband, who seized it. They immediately approached Mico Layout police and registered a complaint. The police filed a FIR and captured Jeevan.

During interrogation, Jeevan confessed to have recorded scenes of the lady bathing just once, however the police suspect that he could have done it a few times. They seized his PC and cameras utilized for the crime.

The police filed IPC Section 354-D (dealing with voyeurism-a man involved in watching or recording a woman engaged in a private act in circumstances where she expected to be left unobserved by the perpetrator or anyone at his behest) against Jeevan. Further investigation is in progress.
