Huballi: An accident victim was kept in the mortuary hours before he breathed his last.
The incident took place at Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) at Hubballi on Sunday. A complaint has been registered on the hospital staffs by the family of the deceased.
Praveen, aged 24, had sustained serious injuries in an accident at Nekara Nagar and was rushed to the KIMS hospital at 8 pm on Sunday. At 3 pm the family was informed that Praveen was dead and the body was moved to the mortuary. Yet, the family was surprised to see that Praveen was very much alive and breathing when the body was taken for post-mortem from the mortuary. The family rushed the body to the private hospital. The doctors at the private hospital confirmed that Praveen died just some time ago and could have been saved if he brought to the hospital early.
The family accused the hospital staffs that they kept Praveen in the mortuary for more than five hours before he died.
