Bengaluru police have arrested a man who posed as an aide of Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara and defrauded people by promising bank loans and government jobs.

The accused, Mohammad Zubair (30) from Koratagere in Tumakuru district, was apprehended by Kengeri police.

Zubair is accused of cheating Shahida Tabassum (55) of Rs 1.20 crore and 186 grams of gold. Following the complaint, the police launched an operation and arrested him. During interrogation, it was revealed that there are over 10 fraud cases against Zubair across various parts of the city, including at the Kengeri police station.

Zubair contacted the public, claiming to be an aide of Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara, and collected money in advance by promising them bank loans and government jobs. He also used forged signatures of the Governor and fake departmental seals on certain documents. Additionally, he promised government officials transfers to desired locations, extracting large sums of money from them.

So far, complaints suggest that Zubair has defrauded people of around Rs 1.50 crore. However, police have only accounted for Rs 80 lakh of the defrauded amount. The investigation is uderway.
