Udupi: The Udupi Town Police have registered a case against a man for posing as the Parliamentary Secretary from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and duping the Shri Krishna Matha by arranging a special darshan for himself and his family.

On October 9, a man identifying himself as Uday called Nagraj Acharya, the Diwan of the Paryaya Puttige Matha, which manages the Shri Krishna Matha, claiming to be a high-ranking official from the PMO. He stated that he and his family would be visiting the temple and requested special arrangements for their darshan.

Following the call, Uday and his family arrived at the temple on October 9 in an Innova car bearing a “Government of India” sign. The temple authorities made the necessary arrangements, and the family was given special darshan on the morning of October 10.

However, the behavior of Uday and his family raised suspicions among the temple staff. Upon further questioning, Uday failed to provide satisfactory answers and left the premises. When the temple management checked the official PMO website for verification, they found no information about him.

Nandan, the manager of Shri Krishna Matha, has filed a complaint with the Udupi Town Police, alleging that Uday had deceived the temple by falsely claiming to be a government official. An investigation is currently underway.
