Meerut: A 25-year-old man, hailing from Meerut allegedly shot dead his sister and later called the police to inform them of the murder.

On Monday, the accused Ashish and his sister got into a verbal spat after she refused to prepare chapatis for his dogs and in a fit of rage he shot her with a country-made pistol. The victim was hit on the head and chest and died before she could be taken to the hospital.

Sources say that Ashish had around 20 pet dogs and he would often force his sister to cook for the dogs. As his sister was unwilling to do so, they would often get into arguments.

Ashish’s mother, who was witness to the incident asked him to flee but instead, Ashish called the police and told them that he had killed his sister, and that they should arrest him.

The accused also claimed to have done the right thing. He said that the dogs were hungry and despite his repeated requests she (sister) refused to feed them and that’s why he shot her.
