Jammu:  A man and his son were injured in Jammu city after a relative opened fire on them following an argument over some family issue, a police official said today. Paramjeet Singh opened fire on brother Harjeet Singh (54) and his Parabjot Singh (26) in a fit of rage after the altercation last night at Harjeet’s home in Miran Sahib area last night.

The official said Parabjot Singh was to marry next month, but it was not clear if any issue related to the wedding led to the argument. Both the injured have been admitted to an area hospital and they were stated to be stable.

He said the pistol from which Paramjeet Singh fired has been recovered from the spot, while efforts were on to nab the accused who fled shortly after the shooting incident. The police was also investigating whether Paramjeet has licence to carry the weapon.
