Mangaluru: In a tragic incident, an air-conditioning mechanic working for MCF was killed after being attacked by a swarm of wasps here on Wednesday, September 22.

The deceased has been identified as Keshav alias Kitta (24), son of Sadhashiva and Kamalakshi of Patlachil in Yedapadavu.

Keshav had climbed a coconut tree at his neighbor’s house with the help of equipment purchased by him to pluck coconuts on Sunday. While climbing the tree, his head accidentally touched the Wasps’ nest. The insects immediately attacked Keshav.

He was immediately rushed to the hospital in Moodbidri and was later shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru where he breathed his last on Wednesday after he stopped responding to his treatment.
