Mangaluru: A man has apologized for unintentionally hurting Tulunadu people’s sentiments in his now-viral song which uses the melody of devotional song hailing Goddess Durgaparameshwari of Kateel.
The singer, Ramu Salian in a video post said that he realised his mistake after Moodbidri Alva’s College’s Kabaddi coach contacted him over the phone and pointed out that his song hurts Hindu sentiments.
Stating that he did not use the tune of the devotional song on purpose, Salian said the mistake was unintentional but people trolled and abused him for the same with few even questioning his religion.
I have hurt the sentiments of Tulunadu people and thus am tendering the apology. I never intended to insult Goddess Durgaparameshwari,” he said while calling out those Hindus who try to dent the self-confidence of a person by using abusive language.
