Man who assaulted, robbed woman arrested by Kundapur Rural Police

Tekkatte: A person who had earlier assaulted and robbed a woman named Devaki Purjita at Dabbekatte of Korgi village has been arrested by the police on Thursday.

Praveen (24), resident of Hosanadu village, Byndoor taluk is the accused of being arrested.

A few days back when Devaki was waiting to receive her children coming from school, accused Praveen had allegedly hit Devaki on the head with an iron rod. As she fell to the ground unconsciously, the accused robbed her jewellery and fled the spot.

Severely injured Devaki was rushed to a nearby hospital.

Later, the Kundapur Rural Police had begun investigating the case by accessing the CCTV footage of streets at Haladi and Kundapur. They traced the accused and arrested him.

Meanwhile, the police have recovered a bike, jewellery, and Rs. 41,000 cash from the accused.
