Mandarthi mela’s chief Yakshagana artist dies of heart attack on stage

Kota: Sadhu Kothari (58), the chief artist in the Mandarthi Yakshagana troupe died of a heart attack on the morning of January 5.
Kothari suffered the heart attack at about 3 am in the morning while he was enacting Magadha in the Yakshagana ‘Mahakali Maghadendra’ at Kalebettu near Kajra in Shiriya.
He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Brahamavara but was declared dead on arrival.
Kothari lived with his family at Barkur and had been a Yakshagana artist for the past forty years.
