Mandya: The JMFC Second Additional Civil Court on Friday acquitted 28 accused persons who were charged for vandalizing a mosque 15 years ago.

In 2007, Hindu activists had retaliated to the burning of a saffron flag by miscreants at Mandya’s Maddur by barging inside a mosque in the same locality. The activists vandalized and torched the mosque.

A case was registered against 47 persons in connection with the case. A charge sheet was filed against 28 people.
