Mangalore University holds its 42nd Annual convocation

Mangaluru: The 42nd Annual Convocation of Mangalore University was held on Saturday at the Mangala Hall within the university premises.
Governor Thawarchand Gehlot, who also serves as the Chancellor of Mangalore University, conferred degrees upon the graduating students. The event honored notable individuals, with M.R.G. Group Founder Chairman K. Prakash Shetty and Non-Resident Indian businessman Dr. Ronald Colaso receiving honorary doctorates. Dr. Thumbe Moideen, Founder Chairman of the Thumbe Group, was notably absent from the event.
A total of 155 individuals were awarded Ph.D. degrees, and outstanding students were recognized with 58 gold medals and 57 cash prizes.
The convocation was attended by Higher Education Minister and Vice-Chancellor Dr. M.C. Sudhakar. Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi, Director General of Research and Information Systems for Developing Countries, New Delhi, delivered the convocation address.
V.V. Chancellor Prof. P.L. Dharma proposed the vote of thanks. The event was also attended by Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Raju Mogaveera, Vice-Chancellor (Examination) Dr. Devendrappa, members of the university syndicate, Vidyavishaya Parishad members, and heads of various organizations.
