Mangaloreans bag prestigious Young Scientist Award

Mangaluru: Two research scholars from Mangalore University bagged the Young Scientist Award. Dr Sriharisukesh N of the Department of Human Consciousness and Yogic Science and Sangeetha Karanth, Department of Chemistry, Mangalore University won the prestigious International Young Scientist Award at the IV International Young Scientist Congress held at Rashtreeya Sanskrit Vidyaapeetha, in Tirupathi.
The International Science Community Association awards them after due process from amongst 261 research works, under 20 different categories with entries from 7 countries. An expert committee scrutinizes the entries, evaluated and shortlisted from poster presentations and then chooses the best in each category for the International Young Scientist Award, 2018.
Dr Sriharisukesh N’s paper focused on how Yoga Therapy can improve the antioxidant activity and degenerative changes in the people with Degenerative Disc Disorder which he completed under the guidance of Professor K Krishna Sharma, HOD of Department of Human Consciousness and Yogic Science, Mangalore University.
Sangeetha Karanth’s presentation was on effective method of molecular modelling and her guide is Prof B Narayana, Department of Chemistry, Mangalore University.
