Mangalurean at FIA European Rally Championship

Mangaluru: Two Indian rallyist’s, Amittrajit Ghosh of Kolkatta and his co-driver/navigator Ashwin Naik from Mangaluru will compete at the international rally circuit – The European Rally Championship (ERC) organised by the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile. The rally will take place in the city of Lamia in Greece from June 1st to 3rd.

Amrittrajit Ghosh and Ashwin Naik have already achieved a podium finish at British rally championship in 2016. Pana, the Mangaluru-based educational conglomerate has sponsored the duo.

The Indian team will be driving a Ford Fiesta R2 car which will be emblazoned with the logo and name of the Mangaluru based Pana Group of Educational Institutions.

Chairman of Pana Group of Institution Prasad Hegde informed that Amrittrajit Ghosh and Ashwin Naik are the first Indians to represent India at the European Rally Championship creating a new record in the history on Indian motor rallying. The duo will be participating in in round 3 of the EKO Acropolis rally.

Ashwin Naik is a Mangalurean and has won almost all rallies on Indian soil, he has won Himalayan rally and desert storm five times each and sub himalayan rally four times.
