In a major breakthrough, ten individuals have been apprehended in connection with the audacious dacoity at the residence of PWD contractor Padmanabha Kotyan, according to police authorities.

The shocking incident, which occurred on June 21 in Ulaibettu under the Mangalore Rural Police Station jurisdiction, saw a gang of masked men forcibly entering Kotyan’s home, assaulting him, and threatening his family before making off with cash and jewelry worth Rs 9 lakh.

City Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal disclosed that seven of those arrested hailed from Kerala, with the remaining three identified from Neeramarga and Bantwal. Authorities revealed that the heist had been in planning for eight months by four local individuals, including Vasanth, a household help at Kotyan’s residence. The investigation is ongoing, and four or five more suspects are expected to be detained soon.
