Mangaluru: 12 college students held for peddling drugs; Items worth Rs 2.85 lakh seized

Mangaluru: The City Crime Branch (CCB) arrested 12 college students for peddling ganja in Mangaluru.
The arrested accused have been identified as Shanuf Abdul Ghafoor(21), Mohammad Raseen (22), Gokula Krishnan(22), Sharoon Anand (19), Ananthu KP (18), Amal(21), from Kerala and residents of Valencia, Nidal(21), Shaheed MTP (22), Mohammad Rishin(22), Rijin Riaz(22) from Kerala and residents of Kadri, Abhishek(21), from Kerala and a resident of Attavar and Fahad Habib(22), from Kerala and a resident of Kodialbail.
Upon receiving a tip-off, CCB police officials under the guidance of CCB Inspector Mahesh Prasad and PSI Rajendra B raided the accused’s residence in Valencia, Mangaluru.
Officials have seized 900 grams of ganja worth Rs 20,000, smoking pipes, rolling papers, Rs. 4,500 cash, 11 mobile phones and a digital weight scale from the accused. The total estimated value of the seized property is Rs. 2,85,000.
Further investigations are underway.
