Mangaluru: A Sub Inspector and a Station Inspector at the Economic and Narcotic Crime Police Station have been suspended in connection with the alleged sale of a luxury car seized from an accused.
State’s Director General of Police Praveen Sood issued the suspension orders on Saturday.
The CID had launched an investigation into the case after the issue of the sale came to light.
It was reported that along with suspended police officers, two others have also been accused in the case.
The case of Elia Construction and Builder Private Limited, the company from where the luxury cars were seized, has also been handed over to the CID.
The company had raised Rs 30 crore from depositors and had later deceived them. Three luxury cars of the company owners were seized by the police.
A woman depositor in the company had filed a case against the company and had alleged that police officials had used the cars for a few days and later sold one of them.
