Mangaluru: Superintendent of Police of the Dakshina Kannada district Lakshmi Prasad on Monday, December 21 said that two teams have been formed to investigate the early morning burglary of a VHP leader’s house in Belthangady taluk’s Kokradi on December 21.
He was speaking after being felicitated by the district administration for the successful rescue of Anubhav from Ujire who was recently abducted from outside his house.
Prakash added that one of the residents of the house who suffered a knife injury from one of the burglars is now safe.
The manner in which the house was robbed is similar to those that occurred in Jaipur and Karkala. There is a suspicion that the same team was involved in Kokradi, the SP said.
On being felicitated by the district administration Prakash said that Anubhav’s rescue operation was not an individual’s efforts but of all the police teams who were involved in it.
“The Sub Inspector in Belthangady did not sleep for two days while working on the case. The cooperation of the locals had also been of great help,” Prakash said.
District in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, Mangaluru MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and Mayor Diwakar Pandeshwar were present during the felicitation.
