Mangaluru: A two-year-old has set an example by donating her hair for a cause.

Aadya Kulal Maroli, daughter of Mrs Sumalata and Mr Bharat Kulal, Maroli donated her hair to make wigs for cancer patients. Mangaluru south MLA shared the news on his Facebook page.

“Namasthe Kudla, I really felt emotional looking at the courage and interest towards a cause by this child, baby Aadya Kulal Maroli. She donated her hair to Cancer patients at such young age (2.4yrs), inspiring many of us to serve the society one or the other way. She is the proud daughter of Mrs Sumalata and Mr Bharat Kulal, Maroli. You are raising her right. She may not understand about the cause but she will be glad to know about it when she grows up. Solmelu,” the MLA wrote.

Hair loss is a common side effect of cancer treatment. It can be caused by chemotherapy or by radiation to the head. Donating our hair is a great way to support people with cancer who have lost theirs.

You can help those who experience hair loss by donating your hair so it can be turned into a wig. Wigs aren’t just about vanity. They can help people with hair loss feel more like themselves. Some people like the fact that a wig enables them to appear healthy so no one judges them or assumes they’re sickly. By donating your hair, you can help improve a person’s mood, which will help them greatly on the road to recovery.
