Mangaluru: 21-year-old drowns in pond at red stone quarry

Mangaluru: A young man, who went for a swim in a pond at a stone quarry, met a watery grave. The incident happened at a rainwater-filled red stone quarry at Ulaibettu Kayarpadavu on Sunday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Shiab (21), a resident of Jokatte.
According to sources, the accident occurred when Shiab and his friends had been to the pond for a swim to cool off after playing cricket.
Meanwhile, Mangaluru Rural police have registered a case in this regard.
