Mangaluru: 4 arrested for spreading fake news on VHP leader

Mangaluru: Police here arrested four people accused of spreading false news on local Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Sharan Pumpwell on June 1.
The four accused, identified as Bhavani Shankar (32), Naushad (27), Ravi (38) and Jayakumar (33) had shared WhatsApp messages stating that Pumpwell sexually abuses woman in the Durga Vahini women’s organization, the women’s wing of the VHP.
Based on a complaint, the four were later arrested by police officials from the Mangalore East Police Station after conducting a probe.
