Mangaluru: In yet another case of suspected moral policing in the city, a girl who was moving with her friend was allegedly waylaid and heckled. The youth who accompanied the girl registered a complaint against unidentified persons with the Surathkal Police Station.

In a quick response, police have arrested 6 persons suspected to be involved in the case. Based on the information received, police have arrested Prahlad, Prashanth, Guruprasad, Prathish, Bharath, and Sukhesh for their alleged involvement in the crime.

The girl and her student colleague were from different religions, sources said.

According to the police complaint, the girl had recently shifted her place of residence, and the man was helping the girl shift her luggage to a newly rented apartment. They both were riding a motorbike when a group started following and later waylaid the duo.
