Mangaluru: 9-year-old girl raped by her stepfather!

Ullala: In a shocking incident, a 9-year-old was critically injured after she was allegedly raped by her stepfather at Pavoor.

The accused, identified as Ashwath (25), has been taken into custody, police said.

Police said, the mother of the victim had married Ashwath after she was abandoned by her husband. The family lived in a rented house in Pavoor.

On the day of the incident, Ashwath and the victim were alone in the house as the woman had been admitted to a hospital for labour pains. Taking advantage of this, the stepfather allegedly raped the girl.

The incident came to light when the girl was admitted to the hospital due to profuse bleeding.

Konaje police swung into action and arrested the accused. A complaint has been registered at the Womens’ Police station in Pandeshwar.
