Mangaluru: Accidental firing case: Injured youth shows no signs of recovery; family considering organ donation

Mangaluru: A youth who sustained critical injuries after his father allegedly opened fire at two men in Morgansgate, Mangaluru on Tuesday afternoon is showing no signs of recovery, as per sources. The youth’s family is now considering organ donation.

The incident took place on the premises of Vaishnavi Express Cargo Private Limited in Morgans Gate in Mangaluru south police station limits.

Sudhindra Prabhu(16) was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital and was in critical condition as the bullet pierced the teenager’s head by eight inches.

The weapon used in the firing is a licensed one belonging to his businessman father, Rajesh.

Rajesh’s employees, driver Chandru and cleaner Ashraf had reportedly demanded Prabhu’s wife to clear their pending wages of Rs 4,000. She then informed Rajesh Prabhu, he reached the place with his son, Sudhindra. It is said that Sudhindra allegedly slapped one of the workers.

In the commotion, Prabhu allegedly took out his gun and fired two rounds of which one hit his son.

Rajesh Prabhu was immediately taken into police custody but as he complained of chest pain, he has been admitted to a nearby private hospital.

Police officials are currently examining the nearby CCTV footage.
