Mangaluru: Mangaluru North Police, on Wednesday, said they have apprehended an accused absconding in a case registered in 2000.
A case was registered under CR.NO: 167/2000 U/S 39(3) (a)R/w 51 of Wild Life Act 1972 against Zakaria, the son of C A Abbas of Bajagoli in Karkala. However, he had been absconding for 20 years, police said in a press release.
Zakaria was arrested on January 18 based on a thorough investigation by Mangaluru North SI Raghavendra Byndoor with assistance from ASI Omdas and COnstable Sampath, the press release said.
The accused was produced before the court, it added.
