Padubidri: The tugboat ‘Alliance’ that sank off the coast here when Cyclone Tauktae hit, has been raised from the sea bed and the search has been started for the three crew members reported to have been inside the tug.
The tugboat had sunk on May 15 and the initial attempts to raise it in the past 5 days were unsuccessful due to a shortage of machinery and technical failures.
When the tugboat sank there were 8 crew members on board. Three of them swam to the shore while the dead bodies of two were later found.
It was assumed that the dead bodies of three still missing are inside the tugboat.
