Mangaluru: Another city suburb notified as containment zone

Mangaluru: Gundalike area in Yeyadi has been notified as a containment zone by the Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district Sindhu B Rupesh.

This comes following the detection of COVID-19 case in Gundalike on Tuesday, May 19.

The containment zone constitutes almost 14 houses with a population of 48 people.

The 5 kilometre buffer zone around the containment zone borders Padil in the east, NMPT at its west, Rathna Beedi at its south, and Marakada at its north.

The buffer zone constitutes a little more than 25,000 houses, shops and offices with a population of more than 1,20,000.

An Executive Engineer from the City Corporation has been appointed as the incident commander.
