Mangaluru: Attack on girl by old acquaintance; Three arrested

Mangaluru: Police officials have arrested three persons on Monday, February 1 in connection to attack on a young woman at a hotel in the city
The incident took place at noon on January 30. The whole incident was recorded on CCTV cameras. The arrested are Thrishool Salian (19), Santhosh Poojary (19), and Dyanish Aran D’Cruz (18)
Speaking to the reporters, City police commissioner, N Shashi Kumar, said, “The accused attacked the woman and her friends sitting in a restaurant at Bendoorwell. A fight ensued amongst them and a friend of the woman was slashed with a knife. A case under different provisions as per the Indian Penal Code and Indian Arms Act was registered at city police station”
“The girl stays with her grandparents as her parents are in Canada and befriended one of the accused through social media. Also, earlier he met her near Bunts hostel and gave her gift asking her to continue being in a relationship with him. The girl had returned the gift and asked him not to trouble her again. The accused then created a ruckus and had threatened her with a knife” he added
