Mangaluru: BSF Jawan on vacation dies of heart attack

Mangaluru: A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan died of cardiac arrest in the city on January 1.

The deceased has been identified as Harish Kumar (43), a resident of Umikana Kulshekar. He passed away at a private hospital in Mangaluru following a heart attack.

Harish had been serving in the BSF for the last 21 years and was attached to the 142nd battalion. He had arrived in twon on vacation from Orissa where he had been deputed.

Harish suffered a heart attack on December 31 and was rushed to the hospital. However, he passed away without responding to treatment on January 1.

He is survived by his wife, a six-year-old son, and a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter.
