A formal complaint has been lodged at the Kadri police station following allegations of verbal abuse directed at a female passenger by a bus conductor.
The complainant, K. Mufeeda Rehman, a local resident residing near Deralakatte in Jalalbagh, recounted the incident in her formal complaint.
According to Ms. Rehman, the incident unfolded when she attempted to board the bus on Monday. She alleged that as she was in the process of boarding, the bus driver unexpectedly moved the vehicle. In a desperate attempt to maintain her balance, she screamed out for assistance. However, the bus driver failed to halt the bus.
In this moment of distress, Ms. Rehman claimed that the bus conductor intervened by grabbing her hand and assisting her onto the bus.
He then allegedly proceeded to verbally abuse her, questioning her ability to board the bus quickly and making insensitive remarks, even suggesting that she wished to die by falling from the vehicle.
In response to these offensive comments, Ms. Rehman asserted that she voiced her objections. Nevertheless, the conductor persisted in his verbal tirade, subjecting her to continued humiliation until she ultimately disembarked from the bus.
As a result of Ms. Rehman’s complaint, a case has been registered against both the bus driver and the conductor involved in the incident.
