Mangaluru: An auto-rickshaw driver was severely injured after a car driver lost control and rammed into the vehicle near Madaninagar of Kuthar on Friday, July 30.

It is said that a Honda car coming from Deralakatte lost control and collided against the auto-rickshaw, leaving the driver severely injured. Not able to gain control, the car driver then hit another car carrying medical students which led to the chain accident. However, the students narrowly escaped.

The auto-rickshaw driver has been identified as Mohammed Mansoor (35), a resident of Deralakatte Badyar.

The driver of the Honda car locked the car and escaped from the spot. It is said that he was driving under the influence of alcohol. Also, the spot where the accident took place has many potholes and it is being said that this might be the reason for the driver to lose control.

Nagori traffic police officials reached the spot and confiscated the car. Later, it was identified that the Honda car was driven by Karate Master Dharanappa, resident of Vittal Kepu.
