Mangaluru: Car hits traffic police; driver escapes

Mangaluru: A traffic police official was injured after he was hit by a speeding car in Mangaluru.
The injured has been identified as Lokesh. The car was allegedly driven by a youth named Mohammed Iqbal.
Lokesh was conducting regular vehicle inspections in the city and noticed a speeding car. He signaled it to stop but the driver was allegedly driving rashly and hit Lokesh.
He chased the vehicle but the driver reportedly stepped on the accelerator and fled leaving him injured.
Injured Lokesh is being treated at a nearby hospital.
The car has now been seized. Police officials are currently on the lookout for the driver.
