Mangaluru: CC camera numbers rise to 1,830

Mangaluru: Under the Karnataka Public Safety (Measures) Enforcement Rules, the police have installed 210 CC cameras at public places throughout the city including commercial buildings through a special campaign conducted last week. Hence, the total number of CC cameras installed in the city has risen to 1,830.

According to Karnataka Public Safety (Measures) Enforcement Rules, CC cameras must be compulsorily installed at all public spaces including commercial buildings and offices. In accordance to the rule and under the leadership of the city police commissioner, a campaign was conducted to make sure that CC cameras were installed at all commercial building and publics within individual police station limits.

6,000 CC cameras!

As per the rule, all public spaces must compulsorily have CC cameras and notices have been sent to all the concerned on this occasion. Legal action will be initiated against those who do not follow this rule. Around 6,000 CC cameras are expected to be installed throughout the city, informed City Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil.
