Mangaluru: CCB police apprehend 2 fugitives wanted in multiple crimes

Mangaluru: CCB police have apprehended two individuals who had been evading the law for a considerable period.
The arrested accused have been identified as Mohammad Abdul Fayan (26) of Manjanady and Moiddeen Hafis alias Abhi (47). Police said they were wanted in connection with several criminal cases across Mangaluru City Commissionerate and Dakshina Kannada district.
Police said that Mohammad Abdul Fayan is a notorious figure involved in 23 cases including theft, attempted murder, and assaulting officers and had been absconding for nearly two years after being released on bail. His criminal activities spanned across various police stations, including Konaje, Ullal, Bantwal Town, and more.
Despite multiple court warrants against him, Fayan managed to evade authorities until his recent arrest by the Mangalore CCB Police in Bangalore, police added.
The second individual, Moiddeen Hafis, also known as Abhi, was apprehended in Manjeshwar, Kasaragod district of Kerala state. Involved in 10 cases of drug sale and trafficking within Mangalore city and Bantwal taluk, Hafis had similarly fled after being released on bail.
Both individuals have been handed over to the Konaje Police Station for further legal proceedings.
