Mangaluru CCB police arrest 2 accused, recover illegal pistol

Mangaluru: CCB police have arrested two persons for illegal possession of a firearm.
The accused have been identified as Abbas (61) of Miyapadav in Manjeshwar and Yashwant Kumar (45) of Paivalike Manjeshwar.
Police said that they launched an operation to nab the accused based on a tip-off. The accused were arrested at Oddidakala in Bajpe
According to police, an unlicenced pistol, 2 mobile phones, and a bike were seized from the accused. The total value of the goods confiscated is estimated to be Rs 1.45 lakhs.
A case has been registered at the Bajpe police station in this regard.
Police said both the accused have had prior run-ins with the law. Abbas was booked in a case of assault and a case under the Excise Act at Majeshwar police station. Several cases, including assult and murder, have been registered against Yashwant at Mangaluru South, Manjeshwar, Kumble, and Badiyadka police stations.
