Mangaluru: CCB police arrest 25-year-old trying to circulate fake currency

Mangaluru CCB Police apprehended an individual allegedly involved in the circulation of counterfeit currency notes.

The accused has been identified as Prashvit (25) a resident of Majeshwar in Kerala.

CCB police said the accused was apprehended on Sunday, December 17 during a raid conducted near Kankanadi based on a credible tip-off.

The accused was found in possession of counterfeit currency denominations of Rs 500, Rs 200, and Rs 100, police said, adding that he is estimated to have circulated 8 to 9 thousand rupees in fake currency.

Counterfeit notes including 3 notes of face value Rs 500, 2 notes of Rs 200, and 3 notes of Rs 100, and a mobile phone allegedly used in the illegal activity were confiscated. Additionally, genuine currency amounting to Rs 4250 was also confiscated, police added.
