Mangaluru: A day after the Christian prayer center’s alleged demolition at Panjimogaru, DCP (law and order) Hariram Shankar, Mangaluru North MLA Dr Bharath Y Shetty and other officers visited the spot.
MLA Bharath Shetty said that in the year 2005, the government land was allotted to anganwadi by women and child welfare department. This information has been mentioned in the RTC.
The land adjacent to the government land belongs to those who made claims about the stay order. There is no confusion about it. Rs 16 lakh has already been sanctioned for the anganwadi, he added.
DCP Hariram Shankar said that the officials will look into the issue and find out whether the building was razed by the department or by others.
Also, Mangaluru tahsildar Purandhar Hegde has ruled out the communal angle to the issue.
