Mangaluru City Corp officials inspect accident spot day after biker’s death

Mangaluru: Officials from the Mangaluru City Corporation on Saturday visited Padavinangady and reviewed the spot where a biker died on Friday after being thrown into the air while trying to avoid a collision with a scooter.

The officials cleared the bushes on the divider on the road near the accident spot and have planned to construct a footpath near the shop at the junction with the main road.

The spot had become an accident-prone zone due to the short distances between the two gaps in the road’s divider and an unscientific curve.

The video of the accident on Friday had gone viral and a lot of outrage was expressed on social media against the Corporation for allowing such a dangerous spot to go unrepaired for so long.
