Mangaluru: The Directorate of Municipal Administration’s has written to the Mangaluru City Corporation asking why has it issued a new app for trade licenses when the State government already has the Vyapar app for the same purpose.
In the letter sent by the Director of Municipal Administration, BB Kaveri stated that all urban local bodies in the State have been notified to use the Vyapar app developed by the Karnataka Municipal Data Society since February 2016 in a circular. The Corporation by using its own separately developed app is in violation of the circular.
Replying to question by the opposition leader in the Corporation, Mayor Diwakar said that they had developed a trade license app for the Corporation, through a contract with a third party as the Vyapar app has many technical glitches. He further said that already many other municipal bodies in the State are using their own app for issuing trade licenses.
