Mangaluru City Corp to conduct survey for street vending zones

Mangaluru: The Vending Committee of the Mangaluru City Corporation on Wednesday decided to conduct a survey for street vending zones and the categorisation of street vendors.

Presided by Municipal Commissioner Akshy Sridhar the committee decided to permit street vendors to continue their activities under the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2021.

After the new survey street vending zones will be created and street vendors will be allowed in these zones based on their trading activities.

Issuance of new street vending licenses and identification cards for the street vendors will also be done after the survey.
