Mangaluru City Corp to present budget in Jan 2021

Mangaluru: The Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) is expected to present its budget for the year 2021-22 by the end of January.

The budget will be presented by Kiran Kumar, chairman of MCC’s Tax Finance and Appeals Committee.

Two rounds of public consultation were held within MCC limits for the preparation of the budget. The first meeting will be held in Suratkal on December 23 and the second one will be held in Mangaluru.

The elections for the mayor and deputy mayor of the MCC will be held before May 28, 2021. The elections will be conducted as per the general reservation roster.

It was reported that for the post of mayor, many names including senior members of the BJP Premanand Shetty and Sudhir Shetty Kannur are being considered.
