Mangaluru City Corporation removes illegal street stalls near State bank

Mangaluru: Mangaluru City Corporation on Thursday removed several petty shops that were encroaching the road near the State bank bus stand, Mangaluru.

As part of the Smart City project, several petty shops and buildings are being demolished by the MCC.

Various works related to the Smart City project are in full swing and the look of the city will completely change during 2024-25.

Under the project, the central government identified a few cities and released funds for the further development of the city.

The aim is to promote cities that provide core infrastructure, clean and sustainable environment, and give a decent quality of life to their citizens through the application of ‘Smart Solutions”.

The Mission also aims to drive economic growth and improve the quality of life through comprehensive work on social, economic, physical, and institutional pillars of the city.

It is said that compared to other cities of the state, Mangaluru has received the highest grant.
